Isabella & Marco

The Story · Villa Bardini

Isabella is Florentine; Marco is from Milan. They wanted Florence to feel like a character in their wedding, not just a backdrop — so we built the day around the city's specific light.

The first day was a private vow exchange at Villa Bardini, perched above Florence with the Duomo visible just behind us. They read their letters to each other in the morning light while I photographed at a respectful distance.

The second day was the public celebration — ceremony in a deconsecrated chapel inside the villa, then a long dinner in the formal gardens.
Isabella & Marco

The second day was the public celebration — ceremony in a deconsecrated chapel inside the villa, then a long dinner in the formal gardens. We shot portraits at golden hour with the city below, and the warm Tuscan light gave the entire set a single, coherent palette.

The day ended with a candlelit walk back through the garden as a string trio played from the loggia. The frames from that walk — Isabella's veil catching the candle glow, Marco half in shadow — became the cover of the editorial we ran in Vogue Italia.

About Florence

Planning a wedding here?

A few practical answers for anyone considering this destination.

Villa Bardini, Villa Le Piazzole, and Villa la Vedetta are my favourites — each offers a different angle on the city and different light at different hours. I'm happy to consult on venue choice.
